Pricing and Cost of Plastic Surgery Procedures around Australia

What does it cost? This is one of the first questions anyone usually asks when it comes to looking at plastic surgery. The answer is it varies a LOT.

We have done the research for you and come up with a general price guide for each procedure.

These prices are an approximate guide only; each surgeon or doctor, surgery and clinic can vary dramatically in their pricing depending on location, experience and patient anatomy.

It will also depend on how much work is involved in your particular procedure, which hospital you choose and how much aftercare is required.

It pays to note that just because a particular surgeon charges less, does not by any means make them a less competent surgeon. In fact, quite a few of the leading surgeons actually have very competitive prices.

When asking for an estimate on a particular procedure make sure you ask the surgeon if that includes all the costs – surgeon fee, your hospital stay, the anesthetist, surgeon’s assistant (if req), support garments, medication and the pre-op and post-op consultation fees.

Are you planning on being an insured patient or uninsured (self-pay)? To qualify for a subsidy you will need to have the right level of Private Health Insurance cover and meet the criteria for a Medicare Item Number.
