MyFaceMyBody Awards – Consistency Matters!
In response to the recent awards garnered, Dr Moncrieff acknowledged his patients; “Thank you so much to all hundreds of women who chose us in 2020 for breast and body surgery and allowed us to make a real difference to their health, happiness and confidence. We are especially grateful they chose us during such a challenging year.”
Dr Moncrieff further added his gratitude to his colleagues. “Thank you to my amazing team headed by my wife Amber Moncrieff, Practice Manager Jessica Laing and Alicia Green, who has been Acting Practice Manager this year while Jessica took maternity leave. Our team, also including Nurse Melissa, Nurse Alecia, Nurse Michaela, Emma, Jasmine and Kylie, have really pulled together to continue providing our patients the 5-star care and support they deserve despite Covid-19 challenges!”
What Sets Hunter Plastic Surgery Apart?
“These awards are more confirmation that our decision four years ago to focus exclusively on breast and body surgery for women has been the right one. We know we are very busy, but it is great to have the MyFaceMyBody judges look closely at so many clinics across the world and independently confirm that what we have is pretty special,” said Dr Moncrieff.
Co-founder of Hunter Plastic Surgery, Amber Moncrieff added, “We have now grown to be one of the most well-known plastic surgery practices in Australia for women and at the start of the year we were on track to have over 30% of our patients travelling more than 100kms from across the country to have surgery with us.”
“We then hit a big hurdle in March when we were effectively shut down for 6 weeks due to corona virus restrictions and obviously our patients from Victoria and Queensland had their plans disrupted for months.”
“We didn’t stop working hard however, offering virtual consultations and continuing to support our existing patients remotely so that once it was safe to resume, we have been managing record levels of demand for breast and body surgery and cosmetic injectables.”
Surgery Marketing – Awarded for Being Real!
“One of my passions in the last few years has been acting as an advocate for more reality in how women are represented in our industry. I was personally sick of seeing stock images of skinny teenage models who had often never even had surgery, being used in social media and other marketing by clinics offering cosmetic and plastic surgery,” explained Dr Moncrieff.
“Over the last few years we have switched to only featuring our real patients across our website, social media and other marketing channels and prospective patients have loved it.”
This for Australasian Practice Website of the Year is a testament to the value of this focus as our website was refreshed just over a year ago by local company Zimple Digital to really showcase our real results on real women. And with visits increased to the Hunter Plastic Surgery website up by more 50% over the year, we know this approach really resonates with women doing their research,” Amber Moncrieff explained.
Are you tired of seeing photoshopped images of teenage models promoting cosmetic surgery?
If the answer is yes, then you are not alone! Renowned Plastic Surgeon, Dr Nick Moncrieff and his wife Amber are tired of it too and have taken a stand, only featuring real patients across their website, social media and even print ads in this publication.
“One thing we are very vocal about in our industry is the importance of honesty and reality in the images of women in the marketing of plastic surgery,” Amber Moncrieff, Practice Director said.
“For example, we refuse to use purchased images of models in our marketing – unlike so many clinics, because we believe they are misleading and have a negative impact on body image.”
By way of example, when the Moncrieffs refreshed the Hunter Plastic Surgery website last year it become an industry first as an image rich site that only featured their real patients.
“No misleading pictures of skinny teenage models here! Just a mix of real patients of different ages and body types after the full range of breast and body surgery we offer,” said Mrs Moncrieff.
Why reality in marketing helps with body image
Dr Moncrieff feels strongly about this issue, “plastic surgery is not for everyone, and I believe women should be given a realistic idea of what’s achievable.”
“If a woman wants to change something about her body, such as repair tummy muscles damaged in pregnancy or reduce the size of her breasts, then she should be able to. But images of models who have never even had surgery promotes negative body image and very unrealistic ideas about what surgery can achieve.”
“We not only invest in beautiful images of our patients who are happy to share their journeys, but we also have hundreds of proper before and afters for prospective patients to review before they invest their time and money in a consultation. We pride ourselves on being very upfront, not only on our results, but even with the total fees associated with surgery being outlined on our website.”
A focus on breast and body surgery
A strong emphasis on reality in marketing, along with a dedicated focus on breast and body surgery, has paid off for Hunter Plastic Surgery Dr Moncrieff in very hot demand with patients from across Australia.
Amber Moncrieff explained, “we have now grown to be one of the most popular plastic surgery practices in Australia for women, with almost 50% of our patients travelling for more than 50kms for surgery with us, and half of them from more than 100kms away.
“I think women are increasingly looking for surgeons who focus on a particular area of aesthetic surgery – and they are prepared to travel from right across Australia for the right person. In our case, that’s Dr Moncrieff!” Mrs Moncrieff concluded.
Any photographs of before and after results are examples only, and do not constitute an implied or any other kind of certainty for the result of surgery or a non-surgical procedure. All surgery carries risks, you should seek a professional opinion before proceeding.
