I just love attending the industry conferences that are spread throughout the year. I hear from many clinic owners and staff there’s such a great selection that sometimes it’s hard to choose which one you will actually attend. Coming away from Cosmedicon 2020 which was held late last week in Sydney, I have to say it’s definitely a great one.
With a stellar lineup of speakers, training, workshops, and demos, as usual Cosmedicon didn’t disappoint. The only disappointment for me was I couldn’t stay till the end!
The first day included a variety of Workshops and I was lucky enough to attend the Cynosure Workshop which was a blast. “Strong is Beautiful” is my new mantra now. Especially after hearing Katelyn Swallow the Editor in Chief of Strong Fitness Magazine. OMG new girl crush! This 27yo is a dynamo and for those that haven’t heard of Strong Fitness Magazine, get a copy! You won’t be disappointed. We were introduced to Stimsure “the next generation in electromagnetic technology for body toning and muscle mass gain”, and yes we’re talking muscle building without the exercise component!
I was also a model for the Vivace treatment which I absolutely loved. You know how when you’re having a treatment you hear “it doesn’t hurt” and then you have it and it does? Well I 100% swear this DID NOT hurt! I was expecting the worse and experienced the best. My skin is glowing, check it out if you haven’t already.
The Cosmedicon 2020 conference focus’ was on being an educational event for the aesthetic medical community, and there were so many amazing speakers sharing their gems with the crowd. To quote one of the attendees Dr Helen Maloof, “This was an intimate conference, a conference of experiences; which allowed one direct contact with presenters, and to test the technology first hand rather than being overwhelmed from a distance. It was a a conference which included workshops which were well planned and content rich.”
There were so many highlights including Dr Jack Zoumaras from Artiste Plastic Surgery – he spoke about an extremely relevant topic in the beauty industry – dealing with patients with BDD or unrealistic expectations. I managed to grab Dr Zoumaras for a podcast on that same topic – I’ll be sharing that with you soon, so stay tuned.
I asked one of the delegates, Dr Helen Maloof about the conference. Here’s what she had to say “This was an intimate conference, a conference of experiences; which allowed one direct contact with presenters, and to test the technology first hand rather than being overwhelmed from a distance. It was a conference which included workshops which were well planned and content-rich.”
A bunch of our favourite device companies were there including High Tech Laser, Cutera, Cynosure, Advanced Cosmeceuticals, Cryomed, Cutera, and so many more! It’s their demonstrations and devices that give the conference such a hands-on feel and is one of the best parts of the whole experience.
Once again, this wouldn’t be complete without thanking the amazing industry rockstar Michelle Kearney and her team and loyal tribe from Bella Media.
