Coolsculpting2016 has been the year of Coolsculpting! This treatment for unwanted fat around the stomach, hips, back, thighs and arms has really taken off and with good reason. Now, one of our favourite plastic surgeons, Dr Graham Sellars, and his clinic are offering the treatment and they are seeing some awesome results. Michelle, Dr Sellars’ wife and Practice Manager, Registered Nurse and nurse injector, helps us to understand why Coolsculpting has become so popular.

So, exactly what is Coolsculpting?

CoolsculptingIn case you’ve been hiding under a rock and don’t know what Coolsculpting is, it’s a treatment using intense cold to break down subcutaneous fat cells which our bodies then remove via our own waste processes. The surrounding tissue is not affected, so it’s just your fat that is targeted. The procedure is basically involves your fatty deposits being held between two cooling pressure panels. It is a little uncomfortable for the first 2-3 minutes until the area becomes numb, and then it is quite comfortable. In fact, Michelle says, “During the treatment you can lie down, check emails or read a book and relax. Afterwards, patients are fine to return back to their usual daily routine, with no special garments required. You will feel some pressure and intense cold, however it is completely non-invasive; there are no needs for anaesthetic, no knives and no downtime.”

CoolsculptingSome Fat is just plain Stubborn!

We all (well, most of us, including me) have those really stubborn areas of fat that just don’t seem to want to part with us, even if we’re really good with our diet and exercise. That’s why Coolsculpting is so great. These are exactly the areas it targets. And because the procedure is so simple and effective, patients all over the country are jumping on board! We asked Dr Sellars why he thought it was time to bring Coolsculpting into their practice. “I have been researching non-surgical fat reduction techniques for 2 years and believe this to be the best technology available to date. Our trained nurses and aestheticians use the CoolSculpting machine and are trained in body contouring by myself and by approved CoolSculpting international trainers.”

Michelle says they are seeing results anywhere from four weeks to three months after the Coolsculpting treatment. She says, “Because fat is not heavy, most patients lose centimetres rather than losing weight on the scales. Many patients comment that their jeans fit better and they feel much more comfortable in clothes, especially swimwear!”

CoolsculptingHow Much Does Coolsculpting Cost?

Michelle says they offer a complimentary 45 minute consultation for the patient to find out more and also identify if the treatment is right for them. Then, if they decide to go ahead, it starts at $900 per application, however they offer package discounts depending on the number of areas needing treatment and how many sessions will be required to get the results you want.

If you’d like to organise your free consultation with Michelle or want to find out more info on Coolsculpting, give them a call on 02 9473 8577. You might also want to check out their Coolsculpting before and after photos to see for yourself what results they’ve been getting.
