Katie is 26 years of age with 4 kids including triplets! After her pregnancies and her children’s births, with abdominal muscle separation, Katie still felt pregnant! She decided to get a tummy tuck and ended up with Dr Nicholas Moncrieff from Hunter Plastic Surgery. Katie is super happy with her results and wanted to share her story with us to help other mums.
Katie, what were your motivations for wanting a tummy tuck?
After having the children I still felt pregnant, so that’s why getting the muscles repaired was so important to me.
How did you find Dr Nicholas Moncrieff at Hunter Plastic Surgery?
I Googled a lot of places and initially, I went and saw another surgeon. Only I found out later he wasn’t actually a plastic surgeon. At the time, it just didn’t feel right for me, and luckily I had a special friend who worked with Hunter Plastic Surgery. The minute I walked in, it was like family. They made me feel so welcome. With Nick, he was amazing, so I knew I was at home when I went there.
How was your experience with Hunter Plastic Surgery and Dr Nicholas Moncrieff?
Very good. I just felt so welcomed and comfortable. I just felt like I was in the right hands the whole step of the way. They were there to answer all my questions for me at any time I needed them.
Having four kids, how was your recovery and was it worth it?
The recovery was extremely painful and hard but well worth it. It was hard because I had to stop the mum duties for so long and remember to look after myself. But every inch of pain was well worth it and I’d do it again tomorrow in a heartbeat. It was hard to take a step back from being a mum, but recovery was quick because I had lots of support from the family. And well worth it. I’m so glad I did it for myself. It’s changed my life. I’m so much more confident.
Are you happy with your results?
I’m very happy with my results. I recently got married, and just being able to be in my swimmers again in front of our family and friends, it’s a very good feeling.
What did your family and friends think of you having surgery? Were they against it? Were they happy for you?
Everyone was really supportive, although my mum was concerned with my recovery. My loved ones were concerned about how big a surgery it was going to be for me. But now that they see how much of a positive effect it’s had on me, they are very happy for me.
