Another year, more awards! A fun night was had by all, with some wonderful entertainment to top it all off, even a harp player! Here’s some of our stand-out award winners.

2017 MFMB Award Winners

While we congratulate all the winners of the awards, as well as the runners up and those nominated, I’d like to mention a few of my personal favourite stand-outs.

WINNER – Dr Mark Magnusson, Esteem Medi Spa
Dr Magnusson is current ASAPS President and hugely involved in the Australian plastic surgery industry as a whole. An all round genuine and lovely guy, Dr Magnusson is a leader in the field and popular with patients and colleagues alike for his down to earth and approachable, yet completely professional and capable nature. Dr Magnusson helps us here at the Hub to keep you informed and we’re super happy he won this one.

WINNER – Sydney Cosmetic Sanctuary
Not only did Dr Rohit Kumar and his practice win Best Practice Design (and seriously, it’s one of the best clinics I’ve ever seen!), they were also highly commended for Best Customer Experience. These two awards are closely related in my eyes, and it’s no surprise as Dr Kumar and his team have their focus on providing exemplary care for their patients, who become like family.

MFMB 2017 - Dr Michael Miroshnik

Dr Michael Miroshnik and Team – multiple award winners

WINNER – Dr Michael Miroshnik – Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon
Dr Miroshnik is Australia’s own BreastMaster. He definitely has some of the most enthusiastic patients out there – his work and results speak for themselves. Behind every great surgeon there has to be a great team, so this win is a standout!

MFMB 2017 - Dr Anh Nguyen

The beautiful Dr Anh Nguyen

WINNER – Dr Anh Plastic Surgeon – Medispa Wellness
Dr Anh Nguyen and her Medispa are truly leaders in the medispa arena so I’m thrilled they won this award. Offering everything from cosmetic surgery to non-surgicals, all your beauty needs including massage, waxing and everything in between, Dr Anh’s one stop shop should be on everyone’s must-visit list! And there’s 2 clinics to choose from in WA, one at the Crowne Metropol Hotel and the other right in the heart of Perth in Williams St.

WINNER – Valley Plastic Surgery
I shared a table with these gorgeous women and their passion about the industry totally inspired me. They’re obviously dedicated to their patients and the industry! I wasn’t surprised they were awarded Winner of Best Customer Experience.

MFMB 2017 - Dr Jayson Oates Calibre

Dr Jayson Oates with some of his CALIBRE team

Dr Jayson Oates and his CALIBRE Clinic are helping males all over the world find a new confidence in life, and we’ve referred more than a few patients to him over the last couple of years. I’m super pleased he is getting recognition for this groundbreaking procedure.

MFMB 2017 - Sigourney Cantelo

Sigourney Cantelo – empowering women

WINNER – Beauticate (Sigourney Cantelo)
I’ve followed Sigourney and her website Beauticate for the last three years (I think almost since it was created!). Beauticate is a combination of the words Beautify and Educate and these are two of my favourite words together! A beautiful website, Sigourney and and her website are informative, fun and feature a plethora of beautiful, strong women (and men!) who all love beautiful things.

  • Dr Michael Miroshnik – Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon
  • Esteem Medispa
  • Face Plus Medispa
  • Flawless Rejuvenation Medical and Aesthetic Skin Clinic

The awards are about highlighting those in the industry that lead the way when it comes to patient experience, results and practices. Even just the process of application encourages quality and pride, and the awards evening is also a great chance for all attendees and participants to meet and enjoy the company of other industry professionals. I personally got to meet and chat with lots of fellow industry friends and colleagues and get up to speed with where their clinics are at, put some faces to names, and the changing industry generally. For me, it’s about keeping abreast of all the industry happenings in Australia so I can pass that information on to patients researching for their next practitioner for their treatments and procedures.

Thanks to the organisers for another spectacular year. Lots of laughing, networking, eating, drinking and remembering how lucky I am to be a part of such an amazing industry.
PS – I drank mineral water only 😉
