These treatments are sometimes just as important for someone as taking daily vitamins. Here is just a sampling of some of the many non-surgical interventions currently available that you can enjoy as part of any life improvement program.

Life Enhancing Non-Surgical Interventions

There are several categories of non-surgical interventions. These include cosmetic procedures to improve the texture and appearance of your skin and reduce the signs and symptoms of aging. Keep in mind one of the most critical non-surgical interventions is exercising and eating a well-balanced diet. You don’t need a doctor to tell you that, although most will.

With new developments in the cosmetic arena, the list of non-surgical procedures is growing all the time. Here are some examples of the most common non-surgical interventions.

Non-surgical procedures offer individuals many different choices for enhanced health, improved self-esteem and better confidence. Remember that not everyone is a good candidate for all of the procedures mentioned. Consult with your healthcare provider to determine what procedures are best given your health and medical history.

Risks & Complications associated with non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

As with any health treatment, there are potential risks & complications with certain medical procedures, even less invasive ones. Anti-wrinkle injections are considered a relatively safe procedure. Some may experience a local site reaction where the needle is injected or an infection which is a rare complication. It is possible that weakening of the muscles may have unintended results including making it difficult to breathe or swallow, so patients with a breathing disorder may not be a good candidate for this procedure. In a very small percentage of cases double vision, drooping or hoarseness may occur. More common side effects include bruising, headache, and fatigue.

Risks associated with dermal fillers may include discomfort and temporary swelling along with soreness and some bruising. These typically resolve over two to three days. Some patients may develop bumps or nodules. These are referred to as granulomas and typically form around the injection site. These may be removed if they become problematic. This typically is a sign of inflammation resulting from the filler. Still other patients who are prone to cold sores may be more susceptible to getting a cold sore following injection with filler. In very rare instances filler may be injected into the wrong location causing intra-arterial embolization, which is a life-threatening complication.

Complications associated with the use of lasers may include redness, swelling, and in some cases uneven treatment which may result in burning or failure of the treatment to provide the results desired by the patient. Most risks and complications can be minimized by seeking the care of qualified and competent healthcare providers.
