Most laser toning has a number of side effects, including reoccurrence of pigments and partial de-pigmentation, but Pastelle drastically reduces these side effects as well as the pain. How does it work?
Laser removal of pigmented lesions works by destroying the pigment in the skin without the need for excision.
This process in completed in 3 simple steps:
Step 1 – LIGHT ABSORPTION:
The laser produces short nanosecond pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be selectively absorbed by the melanin pigment in the lesion.
Step 2 – PIGMENT BREAK-UP:
The laser light is transformed into photoacoustic waves which mechanically break up the melanin pigment into smaller particles.
Step 3 – PIGMENT REMOVAL:
These particles are then removed by the body’s own immune system, as the skin’s macro-phages clear the excess pigment from the area.

Depending on what the Pastelle laser is treating at the time it works just like many other lasers used for those particular treatments.
Performed by a qualified practitioner, including plastic surgeon, cosmetic surgeon, doctor or skin care professional.
The practitioner may treat wrinkles around the eyes, mouth or forehead individually, or treat your entire face. For small areas the practitioner will numb the areas to be treated with a local anaesthetic and may also sedate you.
Treating just parts of the face takes about 30 to 45 minutes. A full-face treatment can take up to two hours.
Tattoo Removal
The Pastelle laser sends pulses of light directly into the tattoo, this then breaks up the tattoo pigment. Tattoo ink and natural pigmentation like melanin absorb the short pulse duration/high peak energy Q-switched pulses so quickly that they create a photo-acoustic effect within the pigment clusters. This effect breaks down the ink into much smaller particles that can be more easily removed by the body’s natural filtering system.
Depending on how big the tattoo is the treatment may only take a couple of minutes.
It is recommended with all tattoo removal procedures that you stay out of the sun, and keep it covered and clean for a short period of time after the laser procedure.
Risks and Complications
As this laser features the PTP technology there are hardly any risks or complications involved. With some of the treatments you may find minor swelling and redness but this will disappear after a short amount of time.
As for tattoo removal, it is normal to experience a small amount of what is called pin point bleeding just after your procedure.
