Before the procedure, a general anaesthetic will be administered.

The breast lift with implants is usually performed by placing the implant beneath the pectoral muscle (thick, fan-shaped muscle under the breast) while the breast is lifted by raising the nipple and tightening the breast tissue underneath. These are performed to reposition the nipple and correct the slackness. Of course, each surgeon may have a different procedure for different patients.

The skin around and below the nipple may be removed before tightening the tissues of the breast. After which, the skin will be stitched. The wound will be closed using dissolving sutures and covered with a surgical tape.

Risks and Complications

These are rare and often only temporary, however, they may include:

  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Implant rippling
  • Capsular contracture
  • Rupture
  • Loss of nipple sensation
Q. What will I expect during recovery after a breast lift with implants be?

A. Recovery time varies, it can take 3 days where one may feel some tightness and pressure, as well as burning. For those who had children, they may feel heavy on the breast that seems like it’s full of milk after childbirth.

Q. What do I need to prevent doing before and after the surgery?

A. Refrain from smoking at least two weeks before and two weeks after the surgery. Better still, refrain from smoking permanently!

Q. Can I still breastfeed after the breast lift with implants surgery?

A. Maybe. There is very small chance of losing the ability to breastfeed after the surgery because the dissection is far from the citiferous duct (mammary gland that carries milk to the nipple).
