Hello I am 33 years of age and have size 22G sometimes 22H breast I have also lost 23kg to help with back pain but still get it. They cause me back pain and rashes and marks on my skin from the straps not to mention my self confident is down hill with them being so big. I am wondering what is the procedure to be fully covered under medicare for a breast reduction as I have been told I should pass as a canidant.

There is currently still a medicare item number for breast reduction, but it’s very strict. The only way to know your individual circumstances would be to consult with a plastic surgeon.  Here’s a link to the directory where you will find qualified and experienced Australian plastic surgeons.  I suggest you consult with at least two surgeons to find the right one for you.  They will also be able to advise you if you are a candidate for any rebates.  Hope that helps. PS. I had a breast reduction about 7 years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made!  I completely relate to everything you said above.  Best of luck on your journey!
