Hi Trish,
My name is Jordan, I’m 54 y/o and have 3 kids aged 28, 24 and 11. We’ve migrated to Australia, Perth 5 years ago.
It is not my intention to write about all the troubles I have with my 16DD breasts as you’ve already know how painful this can be with all accompanying problems.
My question is more linked to the citizens’ entitlement following from the Medicare Rights. I would like to know can such an operation be approved because I have permanent residency.
Furthermore I would kindly ask if you could provide an information about the highest qualified practitioners for my type of surgery in Perth area. However I already spoke with my GP about the surgery. She is very helpful and she is ready to help me out with all the info she has.
Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
Kind regards,
Jordan
Hi Jordan, there are some wonderful plastic surgeons in Perth. As for Medicare, there is currently still an item number for breast reduction, but it’s very strict with regards to who is eligible. The only way to know your individual circumstances would be to consult with a plastic surgeon. Prices vary for a breast reduction procedure, but you can expect anywhere between $6-15K.
I completely understand the health concerns that come with oversized breasts. I love my boobs after my breast reduction and wish you all the best on your journey.
Trish
