According to a television interview aired on Channel 7 earlier this week with Specialist Plastic Surgeon Dr Craig Rubinstein, enquiries for cosmetic surgery have tripled since March this year. According to Dr Rubinstein’s comments on the television show, he believes it is a combination of a lot more people working from home, less social time and for those that are looking to improve their bodies, the closures of many gyms was a factor.
The ‘Zoom’ Factor

Dr Rubinstein said that for his practice, it is eyelid surgery, nose surgery and facelifts that were the most popular queries. “Patients aren’t spending money on holidays or going out – and if they are now working from home, they don’t have to take weeks off work to recover.” Adding, “You can return to work easily as you recover if you’re working from home – in fact, it’s probably an excellent way to recover.”
A young, attractive woman who was part of the television interview, Brooklyn Staunton said that she found this downtime ideal to have a surgery she has long been wanting to have – brachioplasty, otherwise known as arm lift surgery.
“But it’s something I’ve been thinking about and wanting to do for ages. So, for me, it was just a good time to do it now,” she said. “But I would only suggest you do it now, if it’s something you’ve definitely put some thought into before now, and decided it’s something you really want to do,” she added.
