After all these years on this earth I’ve discovered that the most important things we can do to look after our skin is hydrate from the inside, protect ourselves from the sun, and have an excellent skin care range and regime. I totally believe that ‘old age’ is just the body dehydrating with the years. So the answer to looking your best (in my humble opinion) is to hydrate.

In my job I’m always on the lookout for great skincare products, and have recently started using Synergie Skin. Well I have to say, LOVE LOVE LOVE! The range is Australian-made; they don’t use any detergents, synthetic fragrances or PEG (Polyethylene glycol) – which is really important in keeping the natural, clean approach to skincare, and something I am really passionate about, especially when it comes to my skin.

So here’s a bit about some of the products:

Ultracleanse – OMGGGG my fave!!

The thing I love about this cleanser is the smell. It has really subtle hints of bergamot, neroli and mardarin essential oils and I love the feel of it on my skin. And it works! My skin feels clean, fresh and so divine after using this cleanser, and I can really feel it removing the dirt and leftover makeup so that I feel smooth and refreshed. All the things you want in a cleanser, but this one just seems to be extra indulgent. Kind of ‘lush’ if that makes any sense.

The Synergie Ultimate A is a Vitamin A serum (officially called Retinol Rovisome for any of you who want to find out more) is what I put on prior to moisturising. For those of you not already using Vitamin A on your skin, here’s why you should start:

  • Restores dermal thickness
  • Reduces visible sun damage
  • Promotes the formation of healthy blood vessels
  • Protects skin from UV damage
  • Restores the epidermal barrier
  • Regulates oil levels – aids in the management of acne
  • Reduces fine lines through collagen stimulation
  • Reduces skin hyperpigmentation

So, Synergie Skin also have the Vitamin B serum; their Pure C L-Ascorbic Acid Crystals serum; their SuperSerum – which I am also using and is doing exactly what it promises to do – absorbed by the skin much better than a moisturiser which can tend to sit on the top of your skin, it is giving my skin back it’s moisture and reducing my fine lines and wrinkles. As a 50 years and counting woman my skin feels so lush and smooth – seriously!

The last product I want to bring to your attention by Synergie is ReClaim. It’s an anti-ageing moisturiser. We all know how many of these there are on the market and it is getting harder to navigate through them all to find one that works for your particular skin and makes you feel like it’s worth the dollars you spend on it. Let me just say that this particular moisturiser is my all time favourite product. It feels as though it instantly helps to tighten and plump my skin and it’s almost like those tiny little lines around my eyes are instantly reduced. I mean, like straight away. I feel as though my skin glows after putting this beautiful product on my face and neck, and I really think my search is over. Even just the smell of ReClaim makes you feel uplifted – like you’re doing something good to yourself.

I know its a little diversion off all things Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery and treatments, however great skincare works in conjunction with any surgery or treatment and is one of the most important things that contribute to long-term skin health. Skin health will promote and encourage any surgery to heal faster and produce better results. Any practitioner you talk to will agree on the importance of looking after your skin.
