One of the most special days in a girl’s life will be her wedding day. The months leading up to it, however, can often be frantic and overwhelming, especially trying to remember and find time to do all the things that need to be done to make sure the big day is exactly what you want it to be. There are a few things you can do to make it easier on yourself and that’s why we’ve put together The Bride’s Checklist.

Of course the most important thing is making sure you look amazing on your big day, but we’ll focus on that in a minute. Whilst many of us employ the services of a wedding coordinator who will help you make sure everything is covered, some of the things you’ll need to sort are:

  • Finalise the guest list (this may affect your venue)
  • Pick and ask the bridesmaids/groomsmen
  • Decide on a date
  • Find and book the venue – for both the ceremony and the reception (and photos?)
  • Invitations
  • Research and book your entertainment (band/dj or both)
  • Photographer
  • Caterer
  • Menu design and printing
  • Wedding Cake
  • Decorations (contact a hire company) including table plan
  • Florist
  • Hair and Make-up
  • Bridesmaids dresses
  • Honeymoon (are your passports still current!)
  • Celebrant (registrar/priest, etc.)
  • Vows/prayers/readings for ceremony
  • Wedding rings
  • Wedding transport (how are you getting to the wedding)
  • Accommodation – where are you staying on the night of the wedding?

Looking beautiful on your wedding day

Back to making sure you’re looking gorgeous! We enlisted the help of Face Plus Medispa by Dr William Mooney, Facial Cosmetic Surgeon, who are considered experts in the arena of bride preparation. In fact, they have so many ladies coming in asking for help to look their best for their big day that Face Plus Medispa have come up with some Bridal Packages to suit every bride and every budget. They include all the latest skin and beauty treatments and even help you plan a timeline to make sure you get the most out of your package.

Face Plus Medispa offer all the best aesthetic treatments available on the market today – fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments, the latest facials and peels… They’re the medispa frequented by celebs, the wealthy and anyone in the know so if it’s good enough for them, it’s got to be good enough for us!

Jean Charles, Clinical Manager and Cosmetic Nurse at Face Plus Medispa gives some advice for the brides-to-be, “Number 1 is Skin! Targeting your skin concerns is the number one thing you should be focusing on. Yes, we understand that makeup is an incredible tool but smoother and healthier skin will not only impact the beauty of the make-up but your all-important, PHOTOS! Start taking serious care of your skin between 6 to 3 months out for your wedding. It’s also important to remember how stress impacts your skin. Breakouts are not welcome”.

The other thing is to make sure that you don’t do anything with your skin or face that you’ve never done before right before your wedding. Jean Charles asserts, “If you have never had muscle relaxants before it’s best to trial the products at least 6 months before your wedding. Muscle relaxants assist in many areas but we find that brides are most concerns about the make-up falling into the wrinkle “creases” making the unwanted wrinkles more prominent. We suggest brides and grooms trial the muscle relaxants ahead of time so they are aware and “get used to the sensation.”

Jean Charles also makes it very clear that you don’t go overboard. Fillers! Do not do anything DRAMATIC! Pictures last forever, don’t make a decision you make regret when showing your wedding pictures to your grandchildren.”
