The O-Shot® procedure is a breakthrough treatment assisting women to increase sensitivity and desire by rejuvenating the vaginal skin and helping with sexual intimacy. In today’s modern world, women are realising that they no longer have to play second best when it comes to sexual satisfaction and the O-Shot is helping women experience more satisfying sexual gratification.

What is the O-Shot and how does it work?

The O-Shot is a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment that uses your own blood, which is extracted and centrifuged to separate the PRP from red blood cells and platelet-poor plasma in order to be re-injected into the vaginal skin and walls to stimulate stem cells resulting in tissue repair, regeneration and rejuvenation.

Created by Dr Charles Runels who is best known for inventing the Vampire Facial® that Kim Kardashian famously posted on her social media after having the treatment, the O-Shot uses the same process only for vaginal rejuvenation instead of facial rejuvenation. Dr Stephanie Hyams (from Academy Laser Clinics, Sydney) explains. “Many people are familiar with PRP where we harvest some blood and spin it down to take out those concentrated platelets, which are full of all the growth factors and have great healing properties. We then reinject it in the areas of the body that need rejuvenation. The vampire facial was putting it on the skin but the O-Shot is actually injecting it directly into the clitoris and on to the anterior wall of the vagina. This whole area is all part of the sensory area that goes towards orgasm and that’s where the O-Shot gets its name. Its full name is the orgasm shot. But there’s also a lot of claims of other benefits as well, including improvements in stress incontinence and enhanced appearance of the skin. There’s certainly a lot of women describing multiple benefits from this procedure. ”

The O-Shot is suitable for women who:

  • Are noticing a decline in sensitivity and difficulty reaching orgasm
  • Struggle to get aroused
  • Want to improve the appearance of their vulva skin
  • Have a low libido or sexual desire

The O-Shot Procedure

The O-Shot is a reasonably straightforward procedure that takes about 45 minutes including the consultation and procedure. It is a reasonably comfortable procedure, about 2 out of 10, with numbing cream and local anesthetic being used to ensure the patient is comfortable throughout. It does not have any downtime although we suggest you may wish to delay having any sexual activity for three days after the procedure.

Dr Nico Foley (from Academy Laser Clinics, Sydney) says most women find the procedure completely tolerable. “With numbing cream and a bit of local anaesthetic, most women find it pretty good. Patients will say oh, that was totally fine, it didn’t hurt at all. The actual injections only take a few minutes. We’re often combining this with another treatment like Mona Lisa Touch laser to regenerate, strengthen and tighten the internal vaginal walls. If a woman is experiencing common menopausal changes or bladder issues with urgency and stress incontinence, then I will generally recommend Mona Lisa Touch laser and Intimate PRP injections together.”

Academy Laser Clinics has female practitioners in Crows Nest, Sydney and Subiaco, Perth who can provide Intimate PRP injections and the MonaLisa Touch Laser.
