It’s that time of the year already (has it rolled around again so soon?!!). The 2018 Non-Surgical Symposium is on from tomorrow and over the weekend at the Gold Coast Convention Centre and as usual it promises to be the non-surgical industry event of the year. A combined effort of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (CPCA), the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists (ASCD), and the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM), the event sees plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetic doctors, nurses, dermal therapists and other industry personnel gather to discuss and debate the most current and relevant topics in the medical and aesthetic industry.
Besides being a great chance to get informed of all the latest news, treatments, techniques, advances and devices in the industry, I absolutely love catching up with old friends and connecting with new ones. This event is where all those people passionate about the aesthetics industry come together to talk about how to better provide patients with what they want, and I love getting the inside scoop on what patients can look forward to.
Each non-surgical symposium has a theme and this year it is “The Great Debates” which will allow the conference to highlight the different approaches, techniques and thoughts on different topics, allowing the attendees to get a more in depth picture of all the latest treatments, techniques and solving problems. The session with Dr Steven Liew on managing patient problems sounds especially interesting, and I’m also looking forward to hearing about jowl contouring with Dr Peter Huang.
Each symposium includes workshops, a stellar program of speakers, both local and international, bringing their collective knowledge to pass on to the aesthetic industry, and the program is amazing! I always love, love checking out the latest devices and treatments from the industry device companies such as Cutera, Cryomed, Advanced Cosmeceuticals, High Tech Medical, just to name a few – I’ll be getting the inside scoop and doing a few interviews to share with you.
Of course, one of the highlights is the gala dinner where there is a lot of networking, drinking, dancing, laughing, reconnecting and appreciation for what a really special industry the Australian aesthetics industry is.
