Have you had a Hydrafacial yet? July 13, 2018 - Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last couple of years and haven’t been paying attention to the latest facial treatments, you would have heard of the Hydrafacial. All the best clinics offer this treatment and we’ve heard of more than one clinic who have several Hydrafacials to keep up with demand and provide more than one patient the treatment at the same time! Dr Kate Jameson from Youth Lab in Perth love their Hydrafacial and so do their patients – she chatted to us about why this is the facial of the future. What is the Hydrafacial? The Hydrafacial is like the Queen of Facials. If you want a super effective and advanced facial that’s going to leave your skin feeling smooth, soft, hydrated, firmer and glowing, then this is definitely the one for you. The Hydrafacial has a unique, four step process: Clean and Exfoliate – the practitioner uses a deplaning tool that opens up your pores to sweep away the top layer of makeup debris and dead skin cells. Acid peel – a glycolic acid peel so gentle it will just leave a slight, tingling sensation. Extraction – the practitioner uses a vacuum based tip […]
Dr Grant Stevens on why practitioners and patients love the HydraFacial June 27, 2018 - There’s some treatments and devices that while they might have been around for a couple of years they reach a point where everyone discovers how wonderful they are and all of a sudden every clinic has them on board and patients love them. The HydraFacial is one of these treatments and I caught up with President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr Grant Stevens, at the recent Non-Surgical Symposium 2018 to find out why he loves the HydraFacial. Trish: I’m here today with Dr. Grant Stevens, and Dr. Stevens is the President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Stevens: Good job, Trish. Trish: Can’t say it, but anyway, and he’s also the Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California, and I’m honoured and privileged to be here tonight to talk to Dr. Stephens about the HydraFacial treatment, which is a bit of an unsung hero I think in the industry. So thank you so much for joining us today. Dr. Stevens: You’re welcome. It’s my pleasure to be here. Trish: Thank you so much. Dr. Stevens: You’re Gold Coast here in Australia, speaking for everybody here at the Nonsurgical Symposium. Trish: […]

After the cleansing a mild skin peel is applied to soften the pores in preparation for HydraFacial’s ‘Vortex extraction’ that will effectively vacuum the pores clean. This leaves the skin ready to be saturated with vital nutrients like antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid in the final stage of treatment. […]

Well that’s exactly what its designed for – it’s a resurfacing procedure that cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and hydration of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.. So how does this work you ask? Simple, it’s like microdermabrasion but better. Completing 4 steps the procedure is done in about 30-40 minutes and there is no pain. First the practitioner cleanses and exfoliates the skin using a deplaning tool that opens up the pores and sweeps the uppermost layer of makeup debris and dead skin cells away. The second step is the acid peel. This glycolic acid peel is so gentle that it only leaves a slight tingling sensation. Then step three is the extractions. Using a vacuum based tip instead of the practitioner doing it manually this vortex extraction nozzle extracts all the nasty’s that are just under the skin. Then step four is the serum application.
